Boston Bruins Jersey History: 1970 - 1971

The Bruins would utilize Wilson dureen knit jerseys for the 1970-71 season that featured a gold shoulder style and a neck tie-down with three eyelets on each side. For the most part, white laces were used on the black sweaters and black laces were used on the white sweaters. This season would represent a change and have the Bruins wear their white uniforms at home and the black jerseys on the road.

I believe the Bruins would only use one set of jerseys for both home (white) and road (black) throughout the season. There appears to be several cases of the same jerseys being seen worn during the 1969-70 season as well. Given the history of the Bruins organization being rather frugal, this seems very believable.

It is believed the Bruins would use a new set of jerseys for the playoffs that would be carried over and used the following regular season.

The Boston Bruins would have six players suit up for the NHL All Star Game on January 19, 1971 in Boston along with 1970 Cup-winning coach Harry Sinden returning.
